Anyone have some interesting ideas for using the "Life in..." pages of 6th Grade Heritage Studies? These are the cool pages in the 4th edition books. I'm at a loss for thinking of a cool way to use them. I ask higher order thinking questions using them but they are so interesting visually that I want to use them differently.
Thanks

I use the Life in city scene pages as a way to teach history as an informational text. I taught elementary for 15 years so it is where I tend to go with it. I ask them questions that lead the students to examine the headings and information presented throughout the scene. There are some questions given in the Teacher's Edition and some of them are higher level thinking questions which have the students apply knowledge they are learning to what it was like to live in that time period. We use Google Classroom so I will create a doc and ask open ended questions that they have to respond to in writing. This is my first year teaching 6th grade and the first time going through this curriculum but that is how I have used it this year.
