I tear out both the English and the Reading work pages. It makes them easier to fit into the turn-in trays. I grade at school. I've disliked tearing out the English pages, though, because sometimes students need the information again, and once they tear it out, they lose it forever. I know most of it is in the back of the book, but there's been one or two times I've been grateful to have the Abeka charts easily accessible so kids can consult them for the information they need. Reading pages don't really bother me being torn out, though, because kids rarely need to look back at their previous work in reading.
I still tear them out and use a high capacity hole punch to tackle a chapter at a time.
