For the first semester, I had the students do a project about the Reformation. I gave them a choice of making a poster, comic strip book, or fictional journal of someone during the time period. For the second semester, I had the students write a research paper that took a position on a more modern world history topic like "The United Nations has fulfilled its' given mission." After they were done the students who took opposing views debated each other in an organized debate.
I've included additional activities like DBQs and readings from ouside sources.
I'm having my students do a historical research paper that will be both a history and an english grade
