I actually have a watercolor tapestry hanging on my wall that I bought on Amazon. It is not labeled, but as the students use their textbooks I use it as a "whole world" reference. I use a laser pointer to point out all of the places, and it helps students put smaller map locations into the big picture without having displayed answers for tests.
I take time to draw the map on the white board and the students follow on a sheet of computer paper. Doing their best! and they color them. One way they seem to remember the areas for the test.
